The valve body is the brain of your automatic transmission: a complex assembly of electro-hydraulic and mechanical valves that controls hydraulic pressure and every gear change your gearbox makes. It is one of the most precise components in the entire vehicle - and a frequent failure point as transmissions age.
In modern transmissions the valve body integrates hydraulics and computer control into one unit - the mechatronic: solenoids, valves, sensors and control boards are integrated in one assembly, and fixing it requires specialized knowledge, precision equipment and reference data.
At MID Auto we repair valve bodies and mechatronics at component level - carried out by qualified engineers on the original Hydra-Test system, a leading technology for testing, calibrating and restoring valve bodies. Quite often the valve body is the root cause behind symptoms attributed to the whole transmission - the exact cause is confirmed by diagnostics, and repairing it correctly protects the transmission around it.
We use the Hydra-Test valve body bench - a diagnostic system for standalone hydraulic testing of supported valve bodies under controlled conditions: operating temperature, hydraulic pressure, mode by mode. Where a scanner reads codes from the vehicle, Hydra-Test provides controlled hydraulic test data on the assembly itself.
The system runs scripted test sequences at different pressures, control commands and temperature, modelling defined operating modes of the valve body - including the faults that appear only warm.
Digital monitoring of pressures and solenoid behavior provides exact data for calibrating the solenoids and hydraulic settings.
The software compares your assembly’s results against reference results and defined control limits for the specific model - pinpointing failed solenoids, worn valves and internal pressure leaks.
Hydra-Test: hydraulic testing of the supported valve body and its solenoids. In the standard test the integrated electronic module (TCM) is separated from the valve body.
TCM / mechatronic electronics: separate electronic diagnostics and repair where the service is available for the specific module - feasibility of repair, programming or cloning is confirmed per module number and fault type.
Every repaired assembly is checked against the available test scenarios, reference results and control limits for the specific model before it leaves - not assumed, measured.
Components in stock for most common valve body models, from our own imports: valves, solenoids, sleeves and complete kits - browse the valve body catalog for the same parts we fit.
We repair valve bodies for most automatic transmission manufacturers - we support the models for which we hold the required adapter plates and test programs, including:

Exact compatibility is confirmed by transmission code and unit number.
We test the valve bodies for which we hold adapter plates and test programs - the list above, confirmed by code and number.
An extensive database of verified healthy samples and statistics: your valve body is compared against how a healthy one actually behaves.
Precision-made plates for accurate testing and wear assessment for each supported model.
Steel sleeves, braided hoses and quick connections guarantee accurate readings, test after test.
Every repaired assembly passes the final test applicable to its model. The warranty covers the work performed by MID Auto and the fitted components, per our Warranty Policy. It does not cover problems caused by internal mechanical damage in the transmission, a contaminated system, incorrect installation, an electrical fault outside the repaired assembly or a failing torque converter - which is why we always recommend addressing the root cause.
Professional diagnostic and calibration equipment.
A team of highly qualified engineers with years of hands-on experience.
Warranty on the repair performed - per our Warranty Policy.
Usually between 3-5 working days depending on the model and condition - the Hydra-Test bench and repair kits in stock are what keep it that fast.
In many cases yes - worn valves, failed solenoids and worn bores are successfully repaired at component level where the design and available solutions allow it. A complete rebuild costs a fraction of a new original valve body - and for supported models the result is verified on the bench.
For supported models Hydra-Test answers exactly that: the assembly is tested standalone against reference data, so the test result separates the valve body from the transmission around it. Start with professional diagnostics - and you can read what typically fails on your exact transmission in our catalog.
A computer diagnostic reads codes and parameters from the vehicle. Hydra-Test exercises the valve body standalone at controlled temperature and hydraulic pressure, producing behavior graphs for every solenoid and revealing internal pressure leaks and wear that conventional diagnostics cannot see.
Yes - a warranty on the repair and replaced components per our Warranty Policy. Every tester-supported valve body passes a final test before handover - which is exactly why we can stand behind the work.
Yes - workshops and private customers across Europe do it daily: remove the valve body, pack it securely against fluid leaks and impact, and send it to us. We carry out a detailed assessment, contact you with our findings and recommended repair, proceed only after your approval, and return the unit fully tested.
